Pretty castle in the heart of the Saintonge near Saintes, in Charente Maritime

Less than 10 km from the highway, this beautiful white stone house of the fifteenth and seventeenth centuries tells you his story and that of its region: tower staircase, loft, porch, bread oven and bujeoliers, pool, terrace gardens, fountain and stream.

This beautiful house with its spacious, comfortable rooms, is surrounded by a park of 12 ha.

The property owes its name to numerous sources who take birth there. Taillebourg, 2 km on the opposite bank of the Charente, witnessed the famous battle at the end of which the King of France St. Louis regained the Aquitaine that was under English rule for centuries. This battle was immortalized in 1837 by the painter Delacroix.
In 1638, the Seneschal Lord of Mouillepied was assessor of the Count of Taillebourg.

Mouillepied castle owes its present appearance to the Chief Engineer of the arsenal of Rochefort, Guillaume Clairins Lauriers, Chevalier de Saint Michel, who magnified this house into a cozy home, 18th classic style, decorated with terraced gardens and parts water.
